10 Core Beliefs - Loving God and Neighbor
1. Authority of the Bible · I believe the Bible is the Word of God and has the right to command my belief and action.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2. Church· I believe the church is God's primary way to accomplish His purposes on earth today and God's delivery system to the world..
Ephesians 4:15-16, "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
3. Compassion· I believe God calls all Christians to show compassion to those in need.
Psalm 82:3-4, "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."4. Eternity
· I believe there is a heaven and a hell and that Jesus Christ is returning to judge the earth and to establish His eternal kingdom.
John 14:1-4, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."5. Humanity
· I believe all people are loved by God and need Jesus Christ as their Savior.
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."6. Identity in Christ
· I believe I am significant because of my position as a child of God.
John 1:12, "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
7. Personal God· I believe God is involved in and cares about my daily life.
Psalm 121:1-2, "I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."
8. Salvation by Grace· I believe that everything I am or own belongs to God.
1 Timothy 6:17-19, "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."
9. Stewardship· I believe that everything I am or own belongs to God.
1 Timothy 6:17-19, "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. · I believe the God of the Bible is the only true God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:14, "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
