Article Pic Seven Functions of Living out Biblical Community in Our Covenant Small Group

SPIRITUAL FORMATION
As a Biblical Community, we will commit ourselves to our growth and development in Christ. We will confess our areas of struggles to one another and set personal goals for our growth in Christ in the year to come as we personally coach and encourage one another to grow in our understanding of our Christian life and expect results that glorify Christ and expand his Kingdom. Through the year, we will share our progress and encourage one another monthly in our pursuit of Christ-likeness.

EVANGELISM
Each person within the Small Group Outposts will commit to pray for at least three Seekers within their neighborhood, work or school using the prayer, care, and share model of reaching out to others in our spheres of influence with God's love. As a Biblical Community, we will pray together monthly in our Covenant Small Group for our seeker's personal request. We will hold one another accountable to prayerfully touch those seeker households quarterly. We desire to win at least one household to Christ each year.

RECREATION
Home Groups and Community Groups that recreate together will find opportunity for spontaneous and genuine expressions of Christian beliefs, practices and virtues. Inviting non-believers and unconnected people to these recreational activities can often bridge the gap between isolation and connection.

VOLUNTEERISM
As members of this Biblical Community, we will commit ourselves to support the greater Body of Christ through involvement in ministries such as youth, children, worship, and missions in the community and beyond. We will celebrate what God is doing in the greater Body of Christ through our celebration worship as well as connecting with other Christian churches to fulfill the Great Commission in the Coachella Valley, Riverside Country and to the ends of the world. Using Jesus' example of servant leadership, it is the hope and expectation that every person at Cornerstone volunteer in some area.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
As an expression of our desire to share Christ with the world, our Biblical Community will support monthly at least one International Missions Project through increased awareness, commitment to prayer, and financial contributions.

CARE
The foundation of Biblical Community will be our commitment to care for one another. This will manifest itself in practical help to those in difficult and crisis situations through such things as prayer, hospital or home visits, meal preparation, and the like.

EXTENDING COMPASSION
In response to the social needs of our community, each Covenant Small Group will commit to participation in at least four onsite compassion projects as families through the year. Monthly, these Small Group Outposts will select, prepare for, or celebrate their involvement in their compassion project.
